I've never fired a machine gun myself but I'm told by those who have, they're pretty hard to control accurately since they have so much kickback.

But love of art can find a way. The artist would draw dot matrix pictures retasking this weapon of distruction to make pretty pictures.

I know art or any investment product needs to get attention somehow to make it valuable. I don't think the artist employing an M-60, MP-5 or even an M-14 that made something pretty with it wouldn't get some viral coverage demonstrating their skill.

There's a scene in "Lethal Weapon" (maybe further along the series; been a while...) where Riggs shoots a smiley face in the target at a gun range with his revolver. So there's precedent...

There's a viral video of Kadyrov's son shooting a machine gun loaded with persistent tracer rounds. He's writing his initials in the night sky. He's a dick.

Various machine guns have a BURST setting where a volley of ammo is fired with each trigger pull, often 3 rounds, making controlling the aim much easier. Perhaps the result would be a monotone Jackson Pollock-y creation.

Start with a very large canvas bag. Fill it with powdered pigments in distinct layers. Then start shooting. Because it's dry, it won't bleed so much, especially if you compact it a bit first.

You know, just occurred to me, there's places where you can pay to shoot a machine gun legally at a licensed range and it's very expensive. Selling large canvases with a removable overlay of some kind of art piece you follow as a guide would be something that I'd buy if I were spending that much money anyway. Have a piece of art to commemorate your experience.

Plus it would be interesting when people asked how you made it.

If they asked if you were nuts for having a canvas with a bunch of holes in it you'd just "Pollock" them. "This piece exemplifies the dismantling of the stratified delineation between the atypical and the insular, the cognizant and the delusional, the hierarchical gradient from rules based artistic chastity, to unencumbered laissez-faire mumbling eloquence."

Then when they say "What the hell was that word salad about?" you just say "I drew it with a machine gun. It's supposed to be a flower."
