Recently in Oregon, a hunter had a hummingbird try to feed
from his "blaze orange" cap. <link>
While you are busy killing woodland creatures, you can
happily feed our flying friends with this new cap. Simply fill
the inner bag with hummingbird juice through the fill tube,
neatly hidden by
the button on the top of the cap. The bag
helps hold the liquid and also provides cushioning from
bumps. The ventilation holes provide handy feeding ports
where our tiny friends can feast while you use military-grade
weapons to take out defenseless creatures. The liquid also
provides a thermal barrier to keep you from overheating or
freezing.

Out of interest, which had the higher IQ - the hummingbird, or the Oregonian ? |
[8th of 7] my money's on the bird rather than the bird
brain. |

[MaxwellBuchanan] Doing my best to keep screwing with
the world as long as my lifetime warranty is still in effect. |
[theircompetitor] Agreed. I just wish that there was more
than just a vacuous cranium for the hummingbird. |
As an aside...isn't it amazing that hunters need to wear
"blaze orange" caps to keep the [other] drunk hunters from
shooting them. Come October, it gets a *bit* crazy when
the elk hunters take thousands of cans of beer to drink and
then go into the forest with military-grade weapons. Smart
people KNOW to stay out of the woods during elk season. |
Kind of a shame no-one tells the elk, then ... |
[8th of 7] Actually...the elk have habituated into a rhythm of
grazing openly until the first day of elk season. Then they
seem to disappear, overnight. Elk with internal
calendars...evolution in action. |

Someone needs to invent an implantable chip for game
animals to avoid hunters. |

I once posted an idea for feeding Robins using a beret.... will see if I can find and post the link. |
We once tried killing starlings with a Beretta ... we'll see if we can find any spent cartridge cases. |

Hey [Klaatu]. I saw that video on Castanet this morning and wondered if the bird was going to be able to make it to some real nectar before starving to death. (+) |

[2 fries] how's life up in Ogopogo land? |
Yeah, I know that hummingbirds are attracted to bright
colors, but to have it trying to feed through the vent holes
was cute (and a bit weird). Slim pickin's if it was going for the
brain. |
Speaking of sucking brains...would zombie hummingbirds,
suckin' out brains, make a good horror flick, or are they just
too cute to be scary? |
I think "Night of the Hummingbirds" would go much the same way as "Night of the Lepus" |
My advice, avoid the woodpeckers. |
// are they just too cute to be scary? // |
Definitely. It would be like trying to make a horror movie with
sea-otters, or chinchillas, or baby pandas as the "monsters" ...
"Snakes on a plane" has scare potential, "Afternoon of the
Meerkats" isn't going to terrify anyone ... |

Strap killer lasers to their heads and watch as they wipe
everything out with quick swivels of their heads. Watch as
people try to escape, only to be sliced in two. Watch, as
entire villages are reduced to heaping piles of burnt wood.
Be afraid! Be VERY afraid! The laser meerkats are coming... |

Opens nationwide in theaters on October 31, 2017 |

Mongooses would be terrifying. |
Ogopogo-land is good but I can't afford to live here anymore. Time to vacate. Maybe head into Sasquatch-land. |
Those poor bastards. If we were to acknowledge their existence then we'd be on the hook for replanting 96% of the giant Sequoia forests we harvested, and we can't have that now can we? |
There's a fellow who designed a hummingbird-feeder welders-helmet not too long ago. Worth a google. |
Cute absolutely can be bloody terrifying if done correctly with
the right music. 'Talky Tina,' 'The Birds,' etc. |
[2 fries] yeah, saw the welder's helmet thing, but I don't
know how that would work with the shoot-'em-dead crowd. It
just doesn't have that "good ol' boy" vibe, like a billed cap in
blaze orange. |
[RayfordSteele] "Hi...my name is talkie Tina...and I'm gonna
suck your brains out." But who would we get to play the Telly
Savalas role? |

heh Only until the helmet is Kevlar and the visor sincs with the infra-red app on a smart phone [Klaatu]. Hey, that might actually help deter sound-shootings. hmmmm |
