Induction-Heatable Thermos Combo

Induction-Heatable Thermos for Convenient Hot Food Preparation & Prolongment

Our thermos is a vacuum-insulated thermos having a wide mouth and girth. It will have a stainless steel inner wall and outer wall separated by a vacuum-gap. That vacuum-gap will be of a particular measurement.

Our induction cooker mostly works like a regular induction cooking appliance - but it will have an extra mode that will allow it to project its magnetic field slightly farther outward, in order to heat up the inner wall of our vacuum-insulated thermos when the two are used together.

In this way, the thermos can be used as a cooking vessel in conjunction with the induction cooker. Hot food can be cooked directly inside the thermos, and after switching off the cooker, the thermos can be quickly sealed up with its insulating lid, thus keeping the food inside in a very hot state for multiple hours.

A user can prepare a hot meal for themselves in the morning, seal it up and take it with them to work or on a trip, and be assured of having a hot lunch (perhaps even a hot dinner?) later on that day.

For people in a morning rush, it may even be possible to quickly heat & seal some kinds of uncooked food ingredients which would continue to slow cook while on the go. (Meat and veggies would have to be in smaller pieces, not large pieces, for this to work best)

As a special safety feature to ensure you can't continue induction-heating the thermos while it's sealed up, the thermos lid can have a short cord with a little key attached. That special mode on the induction cooker which allows it to heat the thermos will not engage unless that key is plugged into the induction cooker appliance. The cord is too short to allow the key to reach while the lid is in place on the thermos. Pulling the key out of the appliance as you grab your lid will immediately force a shut-off of that special thermos-heating mode, as you then secure your lid onto the thermos to seal it up.

This hasn't been done yet? Huh. [+]

       I like it!
If the outside is non-metallic, the metal inside should (probably...) heat up without having to modify a standard induction cooker (not sure of the "range" per standard).
For the "morning rush" option, the interior will need some thermal mass that the induction cooker heats up. Ceramic with copper wires woven through it?
Given that induction cookers work with magnetic fields, you might be able to rig a magnetically-released valve that opens when on the element, rather than lids with pins etc. Because you KNOW people will circumvent a "pin" safety system (see: seat-belt ends to make a car think you're belted up, steering-wheel jigglers to make a car think you have your hands on the wheel, etc...).

Here's quick a cooking hack if you have a two sanman-co induction thermoses. Plug the key from one lid in while leaving the lid on the one being used. Voila! Instant pressure cooker. Cooks beans in half the time! [+]

[scad] not only that, but the absence of either pressure-relief valve or safety falve means that the only limit to the temperatures and pressures obtainable are (a) power supply, and (b) structural integrity of the lid and seal and container. The culinary possibilities would be unendable.

We all need prolongment, especially when fooding.
