Imagine an asymmetrical ice cream scoop: bent to scoop in a spiral, so that it follows the curved wall of a round ice cream container. One 'scoop' would be all that's needed, producing a curling ribbon of any length instead of a series of dips.

Quite popular up here, ice fishing. Go out on a frozen lake in the middle of winter, dragging behind a small shed with a trapdoor in the floor. Park the shed, open the trapdoor, auger a hole in the ice, put beer in there to keep it cold. Consume beer. |
