Be an interesting Olympic competition.

There’s a piece of equipment at the gym that consists of a rope loop with adjustable resistance that you pull down on as fast as you can. Feels like raising a heavy flag. Made me think it could be a cool sporting event, especially at the start of the Olympics with the flag of best flag raiser’s country being first to the top. You could also have smaller events with schools, cities etc.

Once the first flag hit to top and the others were locked in place you’d have your second and third places showing too.

If it’s close you’d have the hight metered digitally.

This plays while the rest of the flags all raise to the top of their masts. https://www.youtube...watch?v=MCqUESCoB1w

If the flags were bundled up and had to not only get to the top but be fully broken out, that would add an element of skill to the proceedings. If the flag broke out before reaching the top that would be an obvious disqualification. So at least part of the skill would be wrapping the flag in a way that was secure but very quick to break. Would be slightly harder to judge though but that's fine, we want skilled judges arguing rather than just electric switches connected to an automatic display.

Yea, you could do various permutations of this.

I was thinking (maybe over-thinking) of having motors that would lower all but the three winners and then arrange the top three like an Olympic medal award podium. First place at the top, second 1/2 flag height below and third 1/2 flag length below that.

Then everybody's looking at the winners and you don't have that handful of countries flying below everybody else's which seems kind of mean.

Actually here's how it might work, the first three get that three tiered display for a second while people cheer and the rest drop below them by just a few feet but all at the same level. Then you as the song in the link begins to play, the rest of the flags all go to the top slowly and majestically. (link)
