Put in the song you want to learn and adjust the speed, LEDs at either end of these nylon harp strings illuminate the appropriate strings to show you which ones to pluck.
After you pluck them, sensors detect this and turn the LED off and illuminate the next one. Could also have different colors,
illuminate the current strings in blue, the next chords in green so you can anticipate where to pluck next. Could also have one color for the main melody and another for that key so you could improvise as you felt like it.
So basically anybody could play the harp immediately. Might even be kind of relaxing for the player. Be kind of pretty too, get a little light show matching the music.
It would also have a setting for the lights only activating when you pluck it after you've learned the instrument.
"Go Pluck Yourself" Brand Training Harps By Remucon Industries. When you just feel like plucking around. tm
Closest thing I could find.

Oddly enough, harps with strings that are simply lit up area very very common thing.

2010 patent
https://patents.goo...tent/EP2513896A1/en The body (16) of the harp (10) is designed to further allow for the projection of a string light (18) down the length of each individual string (14) as the strings (14) are offset and the lighting may result in an effect similar to fiber optics. The string lights (18) may be low powered lasers, LEDs or other projecting lights, and may light each string (14) with colours typical of conventional harp string colours, such as blue for the note F, red for the note C and white for the remainder of the strings. Other colour arrangements are possible, for example all strings being lit blue or green for example. Lighting the strings (14) may not only add another visual element but may also provide the harpist a clear place indicator when playing notes that is highly beneficial in low light settings. // [pocmloc, Dec 17 2023]
Not the same as this

I think this has been done, not with the strip of LEDs like the Heartland link, but with a single LED (or possibly laser) at the base of each string, so that individual strings can be addressed by some kind of MIDI-style sequencer. |
Yea, that's the idea, individual LED for each string linked to the sequencer. Haven't seen anything but didn't search too much. |
Found a 2010 patent pretty much exactly for this idea. |
I'm sure I have seen a real world application but I can't find a link or picture |

Sound great for really, really, really slow songs. |
Well, you'd adjust the speed, but slow relaxing harp songs, yea, could be nice. I don't think anybody's gonna yell "Hey! Speed that harp shit up!" while swinging a whisky bottle and shooting their Colt 45 in the air. |
No? Whens the last time you went to a harp concert? You take your life in your hands. |
Well I wouldn't go without being armed myself. Bullet proof vest, maybe with a carnation on the lapel. |
When I said really, really, really slow songs I was thinking of Guitar Hero. This could be a good instructive tool but cascading chords and glissandos are out of the question and the professional doesnt need the cues. (You also need lights for the sharp and flat pedals somewhere.) It would look cool, though, with all the epilepsy in the audience on the most spirited numbers. |

A professional harpist using the harp as an input device for lighting and effects would be more interesting, I think. |

Having drums with that feature might be cool. Drums sort of sound like explosions, so putting flashes, maybe even with steam for make smoke. |
