Add a tactile dimension to tattoos by implanting hair during the tattooing process.
This would make them much more interesting, and also render them accessible to the visually impaired.

Could look cool. Scarification and branding already make body art accessible to the visually impaired so the market for this may be smaller than you think. |

I'm all in favour of more body hair. Speaking as a completely disinterested observer, I think it makes you look more mature, intelligent and sexy. Of course, it doesn't mean that you are any of these things, it just makes you look that way. |

Why stop at hair by the way? Any number of interesting materials could be added to the design. Anyone care to burst my bubble-wrap? |

The day body hair is art, I'm gonna be worth millions |

With a little hunting around on the web, you can find photos of tattoos that take advantage of existing body hair for part of the design. I recently saw this tattoo of a jesus-like face, in which his beard and moustache were actual hair. This was on a woman's groin. Looked pretty good. |

Would be good if you wanted a tattoo of a mole with hair growing out of it. Much more lifelike... |

Ok maybe this is ok for the male species but most females try to get rid of various types of hair.
My tattoo is fine without hair thanks. |

Saw a tattoo once, that looked like VW's stick-figure, pushing a lawnmower through the top part of a woman's pubic hair...I'd be laughing too hard to do anything if I actually saw that on someone... |

DrBob, Dr. Cornelius then? |

Actually, Openhead's idea is probably a good one. However, one must be careful to not confuse the terms here; there is a difference: |

Fur stops growing at a preset length. |

Hair will grow forever. Most humans don't have *hair* below the neck, technically it's fur. (not sure about female leg hair) |
|
|
Bet you didn't need to know that :) |
|
|
I could see this be doable with short (.5-1") fur plugs, geneered for compatibility with human skin. This would probably be done by taking human arm-hair follicles (for their textue) and altering pigmentation and texture, while leaving cell marking proteins untouched. |

It would add that much needed
dimension to tattoos but would they
blur after a few years? + |
