Think of it as a spell checker that insults you, as well.

I was thinking today about whether we could make it easier for new bakers and potential bakers (so fewer of them become trolls). Specifically I wonder whether we could have a different 'skin' for the bakery which non-registered users and accounts less than 1 month old see incorporating:

a big warning when posting new ideas saying "please use a search engine to check this idea doesn't exist before posting"

An additional "You're just about to add this to the half-bakery, please re-check the spelling and punctuation. Some haf-bakers are pedants" stage after posting.

hyperlinking references to WIBNI, WTCTTISITMWIBNIIWR, mfd etc. wherever they are referred to in ideas or annos to the help section i.e. to explanations of what they mean.

In fact, just integrating a few of the ideas handily listed in the help section, to point new people in the right direction.

Nothing new here - these suggestions have all been made before. (Allowing, of course, that what some people call "skins," others call "views" or "pages".)

hi [DrCurry], so an enforced beginner's view is already half-baked ? we have contextual-hyperlinks for mfd etc.?

[po].. that's not exactly the same thing.. that's so we can always spot newcomers, but I do that by just clicking on the nic of anyone whose name I don't recognise.
