HB Empower
Join a group that vow to always see the good half | |
Instead of just wibniing half ideas away before they even get off the ground, let's encourage.
Say you see a stupid idea (say you think THIS is a stupid idea, or say you think this isn't an idea at all), but you know the person that posted it did that in good faith, thinking her or his idea was
great.
I remember this discussion before, but it was on one of my posts about a separate idea. This one is about empowerment itself.
And it is a call for halfbakers to join (or fight against) a movement that never gives a fishbone without explaining why, and always prefers to say what needs to be done to tip the idea the other way towards pastry.
I'm not talking about ideas flooding the HB, I'm just talking about regular every day evaluation. This way even a deadly fishboned idea gets a chance to change.

This really should be organically ingrained in the ethos, but nothing's perfect. We could use a nudge. |
|

Some people get offended when I explain my bones. When I post to a touchy person's idea I'm less likely to explain for that reason. I'm a direct kind of guy with an appreciation for clear communication, little patience for beating around the bush and almost no ability to see a hint, so that's part of it. |

There is no story without conflict. |

On the one hand, I want to encourage [pashute], because they're a valued contributor to our community. On the other hand, I like the fact that this community does not give prizes just for showing up. So, [=]. |
