Click this little icon on the Halfbakery, and it tells you which other users you are most compatible with!
Every time you and another user both vote for the same idea, or both vote against the same idea, your compatibility with that user goes up!
Also, if they vote + for your ideas, or you
vote + for their ideas, your compatibility with them also goes up!
The compatibility score goes down when one of you fishbones the other, or if both of you vote differently on another posted idea!
The compatibility score is normalized to 100% scale with 0% being the lowest!
Click the icon and a nice list of your best and worst possible friends appears! You can also click a user's profile to see your compatibility with that person!

Losing anonymity is the worst thing...well not the worst. The worst would be discovering that you're most compatible with waugs.
Anyway, (+), because I know HE would vote against it. |
(+), but let people opt in, so no one can complain about losing anonimity! |

pigeon lover/ cat hater/ printer musician would like to meet similar for baking, walks in the park and 'more'. xx oh must have NSOH |
Good grief - I'd hate to think I was in any way like any of the people here... |
[phundug] + our compatibility just went up 0.02%
... if it was real-time it could be misused to see how individuals voted on each idea though. |
...But only with great effort. Do you think people would really spend the time to do that? |
this is HB. It is UNBELIEVABLE what people spend their time doing. |
Nah - the content filter here at work would then classify HB as a Personals/dating service and keep me from reaching it. |
I just can't be compatible with someone who uses that many exclamation points. Eh, + anyway. Just stay away from me. |
If you had this, you may need some way to identify what gender each baker is. And I don't think anyone else wants to do that. I think it would be cool, though, if male's names had a certain color, and female's names would be different. Unspecified could be left black. Hmmm... I think it would work! Though it would taint the sterile color of the bakery... |
I don't think gender identification is necessary (if you want people to know, just put it on your profile). This is just to see which other 'bakers you are most compatible with. |

Interesting idea, [phundug]. A mathematical version of my own private rating system...(you know, when you see a user name and automatically think "butt-kisser", "insufferable know-it-all", "dick-wad", "comedian", "holier-than-thou", "grumpy old fart",..."black sheep",...that sort of thing.) +. |
[lintkeeper2] every time I see your username I'm just filled with questions. What is lint? Why does it need keeping? What happened to lintkeeper1? Is there a pun here I'm too dim to get? And how did lint come to be important enough to you that you would name yourself after it? (et pour l'idea, un croissant!) |
Lint's those little pieces of fluff that float in the air. I used to get a lot of lint around here but now it has mysteriously stopped coming. Not so mysterious anymore, eh, 'keeper2? Eh!? |
In the end there can be only one lintkeeper. |
Well put, Zanzibar. But, also well put, [lintkeeper1-43]. (guess I'm a "butt-kisser", then.) |
Pah. Not judgemental. I get impressions of users based on what they say in their ideas and annos. But hey, thanks for inspiring a new category. |
// I'll probably be happier not knowing // |
I never have to worry about that. |
Whoa. Just thought of another! |
I was inspired to add to my list. You've just reminded me of another... |
If I post an idea to Halfbakery, and then find out that it has been posted before by someone else, does my compatibility score with that person go up? |
Because I've had this same idea before, about adding match-making to a music web-site, based on people's ratings of the music played on the site. |
