Comes in a coloured glass hive with a little hole at the bottom just large enough to pluck out one gingerbee at a time.

The gingerbees are are an inch long and formed from a rod of dough, rather than being the normal flat cookie disk.

here are some 3D fondant bees, but I'm sure yours are cuter! http://www.etsy.com...pcakecookie-toppers

There are many beehive shaped cookie jars and many frosted bee cookies, so the novel idea here is the ginger flavour and a hole in the bottom of the jar?
1/4 croissant

Oddly enough there aren't, at least nothing close to what I imagine, ie: a multicoloured glass hive; the hole at (not "in", hmmph) the bottom is where the bees crawl in and out of.

And as for bee cookies, there's only a few that aren't simply cookies with a bee painted on them. None that I've seen (and I've Google'd far and wide) are 3D slightly oversized bumblebee shaped.

       However a 1/4 croissant is still a 1/4 croissant.

Are we talking about an actual modern Langstroth style hive, or is it going to look like a skep, which most people still think of as a "beehive" despite not ever actually having seen one in their lives?

Skep and I've seen plenty of cartoons featuring them.
FlyingToaster, Jul 11 2013

I've seen just as many bumblebees in skeps as in Langstroth hives.

I'm sorry that I did not realize these were *3D* cookies, I shall increase my bun to full size! Thanks for explaining.

thankyou and your welcome of course - I shoulda mentioned that they aren't cookie type cookies; they're formed by pinching off a rod of dough rather than disks.

[bigs] lemon are available, but I was thinking a chocolate flavoured stripe in the cookie rather than chocolate applied to the outside (no clue how that's accomplished); mostly I was just shooting for stripes.

yep [xandram] of course they're cuter :D ... okay, maybe not: they'd look like if you took one of the bees from that cupcake montage in your link and made it a bit bigger and ginger-snappy or bready.

Ahh, those'd be those square bees with rounded corners.

Can there also be African Killer Gingerbees?
MaxwellBuchanan, Jul 12 2013

Of course: our African Killer Gingerbees are unsweetened, made with African ginger and a liberal dose of peri peri. The bitter dark chocolate stripes run lengthwise to tell them apart from the ones that aren't routinely classified as pyroclasts.

       Yum yum!

// a liberal dose of peri peri //

Clearly this idea has a sting in the tail ...
