Swiss cheese with Mandelbrot-set eyes

3 types of bacteria participate in Swiss cheese production to create the gas that causes the eyes in the final product. I propose encouraging the CO2 to react in such a way that instead of resulting in just holes, the eyes formed are instead Mandelbrot-shaped tunnels travelling infinitely through each cheese.

       How exactly?   

       Surely the size of the bacteria means there is a lower limit on resolution therefore not infinite? Unless you have magic GM infinitely small bacteria.
