Fever Diet

lose weight fast

A small oral dose of endogenous pyrogen or interleukin 1, which circulates to the brain where it raises the body’s temperature set point via the production of prostaglandin. The resulting low-grade fever increases heart rate, speeds up the metabolism and suppresses appetite, resulting in rapid weight loss. Once the desired weight has been achieved, simply curtail the Fever Diet.

Caution: Drink plenty of fluids while on the Fever Diet. Do not take aspirin or other fever reducing medications while on the Fever Diet. The Fever Diet may cause side effects including irritability, depression, headaches, dizziness, confusion, memory loss, slurring of speech, sweating, shivering, drowsiness, insomnia, gastrointestinal distress, diarrhea, shortness of breath, hives, excessive thirst, etc.

       It's easier to just get a dose of diahrhoheahh (sp?) - you can pick viral, bacterial, amoebic or multicellulr- parasite-of-the-day versions depending on the amount of weight you need to lose. Your treatment sounds like it'd make you feel generally lousy; I'd sooner it were only my GI tract that bore the brunt.

       My best diet technique is to keep my metabolism up with frequent light exercise and to drink plenty of water. My usual fever regimen is to lie in bed and whimper.

       // diahrhoheahh
"DiarhoehahihihohoHAHAHA!"
(Dries hands.)

       (US: Diarrhea; UK: Diarrhoea. There should be a name for a word that you're confident you can spell right up to the moment you actually try.)

       //There should be a name...// How about "prescriptofacile"?
MaxwellBuchanan, Jul 10 2007

       I was trying to think of a word for it and have spawned a new idea, a web service where you type in the definition and it returns the word, words or phrase that fit the definition. eg, "you think you can but you can't".

       In homage to the origins of this word-to-be, perhaps they should be called 'runny words' or 'squords'.

       Is there a word for a poo that you thought was going to be solid until the point of release?

       //"prescriptofacile"?//

       Nope, too easy to spell. Unless you pronounce it as 'Timothy', or something.

       Two words come to mind here (reading through):

       idrivel -- "There should be a name for a word that you're confident you can spell right up to the moment you actually try" (combine "I diverge" with "drivel")

       idaubble -- "Is there a word for a poo that you thought was going to be solid until the point of release?" (combine "I diverge" with "daub")

       Who would have thought that an intellectual bunch such as halfbakers would immediately focus on the semantics of and neologisms for diarreha related concepts.

       And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

       The 'Caution' was added simply to comply with FDA regulations (actually it was added as a commentary on FDA rules, but this is the halfbakery, where reading betweenthe lines is as importatnt as imagining between them).

       The idea is simply to elevate the body's temperature slighty using natural fever inducing substances, which is similar in effect to increasing one's metabolic rate.

       Reensure, idrivel and idaubble sounds like a new apple product. Apple making iDrivel might be possible but iDaubble?
IceFest, Jul 13 2007

       [MaxwellBuchanan], I'd take 3 days of a 101-degree fever over 3 hours of diarrhea or vomiting. However, "endogenous pyrogen" sounds a bit dangerous.
kester, Oct 03 2007

       2,4 DNP elevates body temperature through an inefficient metabolic cycle. It has been used for many years to lose weight. It can make you dangerously hot. You don't have to suffer through the other inflammatory stuff induced by a pyrogen.
