"Fell": From Middle English fellen, from Old English fellan, fiellan ‎(to cause to fall, strike down, fell, cut down, throw down, defeat, destroy, kill, tumble, cause to stumble), from Proto-Germanic *fallijaną ‎(to fell, to cause to fall), causative of Proto-Germanic *fallaną
‎(to fall), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)pōl- ‎(to fall). Cognate with Dutch vellen ‎(to fell, cut down), German fällen ‎(to fell), Norwegian felle ‎(to fell).
Usually meaning "of a strong and cruel nature; eagre and unsparing; grim; fierce; ruthless; savage. " as in "one fell swoop‎".
The idea is therefore to construct a huge searchlight designed to look like the Eye of Sauron atop the Dark Tower of Barad-Dur, as depicted in the Return of the King. It would use massed low-power laser diodes to generate a glaring red beam that would sweep to the horizon. And it would be assembled on top of a huge latticed metal tower in the centre of paris.
It would be activated by a phone line connected to an old-fashioned answering machine, set to turn it on with just One Ring.

You're just jealous, aren't you ? Go on, admit it.... |

Arguably, it should be in Toronto, home of the rather tall "Seein' Tower". |

Perhaps the supports that flank the eye could be made to
look like flasks of saurian brandy. |

[8th], you do realize that the Lord of the Rings series
was not a documentary? |

"A foul-smelling blasted wasteland of dirt and stinking ash, inhabited by feral hordes of savage, hideous deformed goblins." ... the 13th Arrondisement of paris is even called "Gobelins" .... proof positive. |
