A Piratebox is a small electronic device that consists of a Wi-Fi router and a storage device. Often, the wireless network is unsecured so that anyone can access the information. The idea is that you load up the Piratebox with your media of choice and hide it somewhere in the city where it can be supplied with a power source so that anyone who can detect the signal can access the treasure inside, which usually consists of communist literature or Japanese cartoons.

While this seems like a perfectly fine waste of a hard disk, I think that the idea could be adapted so that the dead can store their biographies in their tombstones. The Piratebox would be embedded in the grave marker and the details to access it would be displayed along with the traditional epitaph. Any one who wants to know more about the deceased individual can do so by logging on with a tablet computer.

Solar powered, wake-on-lan, flash memory, lithium-ion battery, CMOS CPU ... very Bakeable.

The challenge is going to be making it reliably last more than 10-20 years. Ditch the battery. Design some archival grade one time programmable memory instead of flash.

Solar power. Some kind of super-long-shelf-life secondary (rechargeable) energy storage (fuel cell? polyacene batteries? supercaps? gravitational potential energy?). Button to activate. Mask ROM.
