Winston Churchill famously called Russia a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

Similarly, a turducken is a dish consisting of a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, further stuffed into a deboned turkey

On this Thanksgiving Day, I give you a diet that, like Nutrisystem, ships every meal to your door -- or perhaps a smart lock on your fridge -- with the only provision that the container containing the food must be opened by solving some sort of puzzle.

Solving the puzzle may or may not involve physical activity -- the main goal is that it would be sufficiently challenging that you wouldn't be able to eat at will, and perhaps graduated per number of daily meals.

We'll guarantee you'll lose 30 pounds in 30 days, or a membership in Mensa.

Can these puzzles be solved with a 5 lb. hammer?

Tampering with the puzzles may result in reduced availability for future meals

Clive Barker is trying to get the film rights for this as we speak. Anyone for Pinhead pasta?

Ponders about pizza and piazza, one is not so hard on the teeth, I forget which.

I think the problem with fat people (and I number myself amongst them, at least at an amateur level) is that they actually like eating. So, asking them to voluntarily install a system that will limit their access to food is unlikely to be a flyer.

Oh, wait - you didn't actually say "voluntarily".

[maxwellbuchanan] I read that metformin causes weight loss [link]. I seem to remember 12 lbs a year.

I have read your knowledgeable comments on life extension technologies, so you already likely know it makes lab mammals live 5-36% longer.

Not that I would suggest that you contribute 1/3 more halfbakery ideas during your lifetime... :)

//knowledgeable comments// That is an outrageous accusation.

I've improved the offering, now including lose 30 pounds in 30 days, or you get a Mensa membership

Actually, it looks to me like you're saying you'll lose one or the other.

       What ever happened to Extelligence?

       It's outside somewhere.

// Can these puzzles be solved with a 5 lb. hammer? //

Probably not all of them, but for the more challenging ones it may be necessary to switch to 2.5 kg of RDX.
