If you own a long hair cat keeping then looking like something other than an old mop is a real chore, particularly if the critter doesn't appreciate the attention. What's needed is something like a cotton gin: a pair of rollers with fine wires on them to 'card' the cat hair into some semblance of order.
Maybe set the rollers up vertically (like in a car wash) in a tunnel between cat and tasty treats. Result: brushed kitty rewarded by treats, eager to do it again.
