While my wife and I were on our way to dinner last night, I
was trying to describe to her a new algorithm I was
developing to generate ASCII art. Before I could finish
telling her about the novel use of least squares regression,
she stopped me short and gave me this idea to post on
Half Bakery.

Nerd's anonymous? Someone in the marketing department picks up the phone on their break break? |
Did she have exasperated glazed over eyes? Don't worry that's just how pink eye starts, keep talking about esoteric algorithms and get her some antibiotics. |
This is pretty much the sole reason I come to HB. Maybe we should post phone numbers. |
Yup, this place *is* Call-A-Nerd. |
There exists a Dail-a-Nerd, but it is a company. |
Not to be confused with Dail-a-lama, which, contrary to popular belief, does not redirect to a switchboard in Tibet. |
It's sort of an ironic idea to call a nerd. |
I would be happy to present my number. Unfortunately
while I'm a nerd I'm neither particularly bright nor
particularly well educated so I wouldn't be helpful. Also
there is the matter of specialties. Sometimes a math
nerd is needed, sometimes a computer nerd, sometimes
a comic book nerd. |

Many a relationship has clearly been saved through the awesome power of this site. |

So, what is the algorithm? [and I like the idea, if HB users could subscribe anonymously, and talk with anonymoused voice +] |
