How about Scalextric style racing tracks for bumper cars...

Begin with 20 lanes setting off simultaneously, on a slight hill to increase the setting off speed, then open out into a wide area at the bottom where the twenty cars have to battle each other to get into another 15 lanes, then the same splitting it down again, and so on, until there are only two lanes and on to the finish line... add pillars and other things to slow people down and give people behind the chance to catch up.

Add flashing lights and sirens and loud music, and you are on to a winner I reckon.

(For americans.. Bumper cars are what you guys call dodgems... there is no dodging involved in England...)

Sounds fun. You'd need a huge arena/track though, to get 20 cars side by side. It's not going to be a fairground attraction.

Can we include the "Race 'N Chase" swing bridge?

I totally agree.. its a definite Theme Park ride.. but then the cars could be better and it would be monitored... Beats Go-Karting I reckon.

Actually, we Americans call them bumper cars, too, and we also tend to see dodging as antithetical. That said, I have seen some of these rides with signs stipulating that "All cars must be driven in the same direction." I've always wondered what those signs are there for.

Wow.. thats a really good idea! I think building glass bottomed restaurants over go cart tracks or race tracks would be great too.. dangerous... but great!

       Zero-gravity three-dimensional bumper cars... hmm.

       Bumper Zeppelins.

I always thought that town cars should have giant bumpers like bumper cars... which would make parking a hell of a lot easier.... just bump people out of the way if they are blocking you in.
