Tries to think of an inappropriate annotation to test 8th's resolve as Max laughs in his cloud or wherever he is.

You assume there will be a year 2021; that March will not be cancelled or re-numbered; and the the Halfbakery will be live, and that anyone will log in
pocmloc, Oct 11 2020

"Who had X for Y?" snowclone memes will be 'so 2020'; but because nobody expects a halfbaked idea this will remain fresh.

At least one country in the world will develop and publish a comprehensive legal framework suitable for managing human-carrying drones as taxis.

Coal power plants will continue to be shut down, but it will happen faster than electrical power storage is built leading to a minor energy crisis and the spending of at least 400 billion dollars globally in battery power rush jobs, not to mention the money that will be spent on new solar farms.

Corn, beans, oats, rapeseed oil, and wheat will decline in price relative to inflation as global warming provides an extra planting period in the northern US.

Oil prices will remain low throughout the year, but will rise near the end of 2021.

There will be famine in Western Russia. Putin will lose power and money, but will still be in control of the country if he survives.

In the likely case that Biden ascends to power there will be a war between the US and a middle eastern country. The relative declining price of oil (despite attempts to prop it up with wars) will continue to destabilize the region otherwise as well.

The real inflation rate in the US will be over 15%

A country that has never landed on the moon will land on the moon.

At least 4 tourists will orbit the earth.

Globally there will be additional funding for oceanography. at least 10% more after inflation.

There will be no major advance in AI, but consolidation of what we already know will still push productivity ahead.

A craft using a solar sail will be launched. The mission will not succeed.

Rebellious zoomers will continue to confuse and depress their parents by studying hard, working hard, and becoming more politically active.

There will be a call for reform in the nursing home industry.

The Queen of England will die. Joe Biden will step down due to poor health.

Nice try, [Voice], but as we always archive all our threads, and any changes or additions thereto, any subsequent edits will be noted and - if necessary - corrections will be added (and administered).

Ahhh...I'd bun this a zillion times if I could.

       //assume there will be a year 2021//
I think it will go ahead, but will be known to future generations as "the year without a public gathering".
neutrinos_shadow, Oct 11 2020

Or maybe, a bit like AD 69, it will be "the year of four presidents", with the present incumbent tweeting "QUALIS ARTIFEX PEREO !!! SAD."

<in the spirit of rememberancing [MB] by applying scientific method>

I wonder: was the Covid combined with the cancer what got to [Max] and knocked him out so quickly? We're finding out that a tremendous number of people are having 'long haul' aftereffects of the original illness, and that it appears to be primarily targeting the body's inflammatory and circulatory systems. He wouldn't have known, as the disease was so new. The 'Rona is even more dastardly than we thought.
Sgt Teacup, Oct 12 2020

Entirely possible. A month previous to [Max] we lost a dear friend who, in addition to a recent injury and sepsis, had "an unknown flu-like ailment". He went from hale and healthy to gone in an abrupt 29 days.
whatrock, Oct 12 2020

After Legionella was identified, a trawl back through years of stored pathology samples turned up numerous previously unexplained fatalities, so it's entirely possible as [what] points out - but there are vast numbers of these little viruses swilling around, waiting for an opportunity - i.e someone who's already seriously ill.

I vote that pride month be replaced entirely with Max month. He liked parades, as well as playing with small types all packed together.

In the land of fruits and nuts (California) all petroleum related fuels and all coal, oil, gas and nuclear power plants will be abolished overnight because they are "terrible and icky". The subsequent continuous power outage will be blamed on Trump, the far Right, white supremacist groups and crooked politicians (not their own). All personal gold will be collected, melted, cast into an effigy of Joe Biden and prayed to. Nothing will happen. $5.9B will summarily be crowdfunded for Magical Green EcoPower From Uncle Gavin Who Loves Us. Nothing will happen.

There's a bush fire up the Swan Valley.

Would [AusCan531] like to check in here to let us know he's OK?
pertinax, Feb 02 2021

Overwhelming public knowledge will force world governments to disclose more than fifty years worth of classified data causing a renaissance never before seen in the history of mankind.

       ...and then we spore.

       That is all.

one day [8th of 7th] wore his huge bushy beard face mask and was mistaken as the Roman Emporer, Hadrian. The townsfolk threw themselves at his feet and worshipped him and therefore brought him all the cats in kingdom...

Mistaken as, or mistaken for? The difference is important.

We sat by the 'phone all day on 11 March and no one called us to join in. It was [8th]'s idea, and he had gone on ahead, without telling us.
