It's a simple premise, really. Given that there's already an Olympics for frozen water sports, I don't see why liquid water sports should suffer the indignity of being lumped together with the land sports.

There are certainly sufficient accredited sports for an Olympiad.

Above water:
Sailing
Canoeing
Kayaking
Rowing
Surfboarding
Windsurfing
Waterskiing
Wakeboarding
Kayak Polo

In Water:
Speed Swimming
Synchronized Swimming
Diving
Water Polo

Underwater:
Underwater Hockey
Underwater Rugby
SCUBA event of some sort

       Anything for watersports....

Will there be fishing tournaments and a swimsuit competition... just to round things out... or will PETA, and Women's Lib veto those ideas?

....Only the trouble is, the Winter Olympics is not home to frozen water sports exclusively, (just the season of Winter). (The Biathlon, the Luge, Bobsleigh, downhill, etc)
Although I must confess, the allure of Speed Swimming Synchronised Swimming Diving Water Polo certainly fills me with an expectant air... all those disciplines in one event! Please divulge the apparatus of this exciting event!
Otherwise, le bone. [-]

...normal watersports (sailing, swimming, kayaking, rowing, water polo etc) are included in the normal Olympics because they can be. Doing the 100m sprint and the skiing in the same environment would make one of other of the competitors very unhappy.

       silliness. [-]
