Animatronic cell phone

Some folks become enraged at the sight of a person driving while talking on a cell phone. Arguably, it is dangerous. Nobody becomes enraged at the sight of the driver talking to her passenger, since this has been going on for 100 years. By installing a cell phone in an animatronic dummy, drivers can hold their conversations in the old-fashioned, non-distracting way: with a virtual passenger. Other drivers would be mollified at the sight of Thomas Jefferson riding shotgun in a minivan, calmly chatting with the driver.

       No no no no. I mean, just, well, no. No. I can't put in any clearer than that - nein, non, ei, nyet.   

       What is needed, to best exploit available technology, is a scaled-up version of Virgil Tracy, Brains, Parker or Lady Penelope. Lip movement, in the same style as in the original Supermarionation, would be synced to the sound coming through the phone.   

       As a bonus, text messages and satnav instruction could be read out in the corresponding character's voice - "At the hurroundhabout, take the second hexit, m'lady."
