velocity sensitive keys are common place now in midi keyboards. They sense different pressure depresses of keys to relate to volume.

I propose using the same technology for keyboards. Now instead of hitting shift to capitalize you could simple pound the key a bit harder to make it a capital. Of course this could be adjustable for those who are natural key pounders.

secondly for video games this could help with realism. console controllers already have analog buttons, triggers and joysticks. Analog keys would make it easier in driving games to make minute adjustments to steering instead of the pulsing you have to do on a digitla pc keyboard.

The technology is so simple and costs so little I'm surprised no one has done it yet.
