I tried to listen to a cancer-related podcast interviewing a Japanese researcher and could not understand a word of his accent. Accent is hard for one nationality to adapt for another, but there is certainly a pattern behind any one nation's scrambling the sounds of English. Some translate program should
smooth out the audio into discernible English.
