Chewing gum to get you shitfaced. I don't have the least bit of an idea how, but here's 2 things I know:
-People like to be drunk
-People like to chew gum
-Alcohol can be absorbed through the mouth (and other orifices for that matter)
-There were only supposed to be 2 items in this list
-I can't seem to find my pants
If anyone has seen my pants, please put them in your mailbox. I'll get them later.

Croissie d'Guerre for styyyyyle, babay. Also because it made me snort pepsi at work and everyone stared at me.

According to the USDA Nutrient Database, a standard 12 fl oz serving of beer contains 12.816g ethanol, and a 3g stick of chewing gum contains 0.078g of water. Replace this entirely with ethanol, and you might need something like 600 sticks to even begin to notice intoxifying effects. I suspect after chewing 600 sticks of regular gum, you'd be on some sort of buzz in any case.

Also chewing gum is soluble in alcohol. You'd just have a sticky mess in the pack.

Here's your pants - judging by the pee-spot, you should "shake it" before you leave restroom. Looks like the knees are worn out too.

wasn't this mentioned in a deep space 9 episode about baseball in the holodeck... I think o'brien replicated something like this...

didn't they used to have bubble gum in a ball shape?

you could have a measure of scotch or whatever inside the gum ball - bit like a liquer chocolate

Alcohol could be encapsulated as a fine powder (like the powder that is used on "carbonless" copy paper )and mixed into the gum. The encapsulating substance could perhaps be dissolved by saliva. Ok, so we only need a substance that dissolves in saliva but not alcohol...

And isn't toxic or habit-forming and meets with FDA approval.

Also, holding plants in your mouth for a long time is the best way to get the psychoactive stuff out. There should be Salvia divinorum gum, khat gum. Is there cafine gum? Why isn't nicotine gum as legal as cigarettes?
JesusHChrist, Apr 01 2005

I hope ingested Salvia feels different than it does when taken with fire....not pleasant. God, I can't believe someone drudged this long forgotten idea up...
AfroAssault, Apr 01 2005

Yes, there is caffeine gum. And caffeine soap. And caffeine lotion. (see link.) Nicotine gum, "Nicorette", has also recently gone OTC (over-the-counter).

[AA]How do you know that you can absorb alcohol through *some* orifices? Self experimentation? Or did you experiment on a friend?

Or did you get it off the internet, so it *must* be true...?

[froglet] - News story on a morning radio show about girls in Sweden doing it with Vodka and tampons at school. They went on to explain that this is a version of an old sailor alcohol-enema trick, so they could get sloshed (oh yeah, pun intended baby) and not have alcohol on their breath when they return to base.
Me? I like booze the old fashioned way. Injected into my eye.
