404 snack packs

Any site/connection message of "not available" loads a hypertext page full of wikipedia or comics; let the clicking continue!

My wifi is dodgy and I sometimes get an "unable to connect" page.

I would like it much better if something like a browser add on had a variety of hypertext snack-packs that would load on the 404-like page. I could continue clicking and reading. Wikipedia might be good for me. I enjoy comics and a few thousand images of my favorite comics would also be nice. i think this could be easily accomplished with a browser add-on.

There's your problem, right there ... if you fix your wifi, you won't need this idea at all.

Educational institutions could offer advanced degrees in this manner.

[+] This isn't an entirely new idea but good nevertheless. In the earlier days of the internet when 404 errors were quite common, advertisers were looking for ways to capitalize on all of that "eyeball real estate".

I saw something of this sort just now. My daughter, unable to connect, was having a tyrannosaurus jump over cacti.

That's exactly how I read it the first time, too.

Google Chrome already loads a mini game when your connection fails.
