3D Artwalk
Various 3D drawings come into correct perspective as you walk through the gallery | |
3D art has been around for a long time, this idea is to
have a
prescribed path that walks the viewer through the
incorrect
viewing angle to the correct viewing angle so they can
see the
picture come into correct perspective in somewhat of an
animated fashion.
As you walk through this
exhibit following a painted line
on
the ground, you see various works of art that appear to
be
bizarre, confusing items and scenes that are stretched
and
twisted beyond recognition. When you reach symbol of
an eye
in the line, the drawing, viewed from that point, comes
into
view as a 3D scene.
The walk would take you through the wrong angle first...

I like the idea of designated viewing spots as most people
don't seem to know how to back up to look at a painting be
it 3D or representational. |

I can't find it but there was an amazing 3D diorama I guess
for lack of a better name that only made sense from one
narrow viewpoint. I'll keep looking but I really don't know
what search terms to use. It was pretty amazing. |

I don't think the picture would pop at the correct view. The brain would try to process the picture, while on the pathway, ruining the affect. |

If the 3d picture was on layers, more confusing information could be placed on the layers covered at the correct viewing position. |

Sounds a lot like the UK Channel 4 TV channel ident. They generally
show a cluttered vista of haybales, girders, concrete columns or
boxes, but as the camera POV shifts, the numeral "4" is briefly
revealed as the objects "drift" into position. This may not be WKTE in
the uncivilized areas of your
planet. |

The main idea is the walkway feature with the marked
viewing areas. The walkway takes you through the wrong
and the right viewing angles so you get the "falling into
perspective" effect. |

The art might be specifically created to be very hard to
interpret from the wrong angle so its a surprise when you
figure out what it is. |

I still maintain, with larger pieces, there is quite a wide angle that the artwork works with a smaller sweet spot being the main objective. Gallery walls, columns on the pathway could limit angles to only show what was intended. |

A piece that contains two different perspective scenes from either end would be hard to achieve but not impossible. |
