how does the author of a word tell everyone else what the word signifies?

There appears to have been a sea change in Wikipedian demographics. At one time the majority of major contributors were British, but now the highest percentage of (general?) contributors are living the U.S. Not especially well-educated either. I have wondered more than once if there is an Anglo bias to entries and whether the entries in other languages are written by foreigners or merely a form of translation.

I'm pretty sure some of the historical articles in English have been written by a native speakers of non-English languages, then translated into English, not vice versa. For example, if you look at Wikipedia articles in English about Mexican history or Bolivarianism, I'm pretty sure at least some of them were written by native Spanish speakers. However, there does seem to be an Anglo bias to the extent that the non-English entries about what should be universal (not specifically Anglophone) matters often (not always) seem shorter than the equivalent articles in English (so not translations).

^ I have noticed that [paschute] never replies to questions asked about his/her idea and would fishbone for lack of interest in ones own idea. but i won’t
