Google Translate helps make the world smaller. I can use automatic translation in my browser to read web pages in other languages.

When I search for something, however, I only see results in the language that I used for the query.

For example, if I search for a legend of a talking ox, I'll get different answers if I search for that in English or in Chinese.

If I could search once, and get results in many languages, I think that would improve multi-cultural communication around the world.

Stop teaching foreign languages Stop_20teaching_20foreign_20languages
A much better idea [8th of 7, Nov 10 2017]

Welcome to the Halfbakery, [peterburk]. Wear these square brackets with pride. There are many like them, but those ones are yours.

       And yes, why not? [+]

Because it goes totally against the idea of compelling all foreigners to learn English ?

Acknowledging their funny foreign jabber merely encourages them, which is bad and wrong.

Oh, and as [MB] said, welcome. Don't worry, although newcomers do get a certain amount of hazing from the residents, there is always a "honeymoon" period during which errors of spelling, grammar, or technical detail are generously forgiven ...

       .... 2 .... 1 .....0.

Right, honeymoon over. Bring forth the tank of preserved prunes in syrup, and the armadillos...

Welcome new recruit. Say hello to Max and 8th. They come as a type of quantum entangled duet. It's my job to keep them in order. [someone has to do it]

And allow me to introduce the Halfbakery's answer to Madame Cholet, [xenzag].

It's time for you to return to the hen house....it's getting dark and mother goose will become quite cross. [they respond very well to "farm talk", especially if you can do the noises for them] Just never mention Max's nether region rash..... shuussshhhhh - the last thing we need here is another egg laying strike.

I wanted this idea just the other day, though I can't remember what for. [+]

You don't want to steal and leverage from other cultures, do you? Right then [+], good idea to push the envelope for humanity.
