voting for public utilities contract

  (+3, -1)
(+3, -1)
  [vote for,
against]

Instead of the government giving out stuff like no bid contracts to questionable companies... Why not give the people the ability to vote for the next best company to get the contract.

If our government constantly espouse the joy of privatizing our essentials public infrastructure to profit seeking company, its only right that we get to choose directly. Otherwise it is just a government sponsored monopoly, often by ministers who magically happen to be soon employed by the same company after politics.

Why? Because apparently when something wrong happens and I as a voter wants to blame somebody... the government says its the company fault. The company would then blame the government for not paying enough.

a referendum on every public selloff? have you seen the turnouts on local elections. Have you heard of UKIP? are you mad?

And what sort of choice will be offered? Multinational 1 vs Multinational 2? That's even less choice than party politics.
