a tree-shaped coin bank, in which junior can deposit his spare change. when a coin is dropped in at the base of the tree (the roots?), a switch is switched and an internal conveyor system picks up the coin and conveys it to an opening in one of the branches, where it waits to be picked from the tree.

teaches kids the importance of saving for a rainy day, planting seeds for the future, etc.

I'm not sure about the teaching. The device actually teaches kids to that money does grow on trees. Could be fun to design the multi-branched conveyor system.
