attempting to override texting while driving

So many tragic deaths have been caused by texting while driving. My idea to stop this is have texting turned off automatically for someone in the driver's seat while the car is moving. The car's Bluetooth 4.0 base station has its position relative to the driver's seat baked in its firmware. The phone then can detect when it is in the driver's seat. If this is the case and the phone's GPS detects that we are moving, texting is disabled.

This idea is almost what I hoped it would be. From the title I envisioned a heating element embedded in the driver's seat that would become hotter and hotter the longer the texting continues, starting at uncomfortably warm and rapidly progressing to actually setting the upholstery on fire.

Big big [+] for deterring texting while driving, ancilliary [ ] for lack of painful negative reinforcement. There should be dire consequences for engaging in wanton stupidity.

Can't you just uninstall the app?

Ah. well, perhaps switch off the GPS?

Also they could get a second phone that was a nice cheap old fashioned brick phone with no blurtooth, app support, GPS or anything.
