ingeniously designed so that by a few tugs of the arms and legs, the teddybear gets bigger with your growing child.

there’s a valve in the tummy button to add more stuffing.

growls a treat as you pull him about.

(*him – everyone knows that they are all male)

I'm kinda thinking this one won't be beary cuddly.

       depends on the stuffing!

How about inflatable rather than telescoping?

Oh, yeah, croissant, if only for the mental image of gangly teenagers lugging around gangly 9' teddy bears.
DrCurry, Sep 27 2005

inflatable generally means burstable or a pathetic slow deflatable.

I like the idea of it being ill-treated a bit. ssssh, you didn't hear me say that.

I don't think it was a teddy bear, but I've seen a "wind-up" music box thing that was wound by pulling a string. The string was covered by accordion pleated fabric that represented some segment of some creature. I want to say that it was the torso and/or legs of a stuffed bunny sorta like animal thing.

You could call these "Bungee Bears," btw.
DrCurry, Sep 28 2005

       1/2, was it painful?
po, Sep 28 2005

Dunno, it wasn't me being stretched. It's just what popped in to my head as I visualized what you were proposing.

       totally innocent, I promise.
