shaking calm
Artworks that can be seen from doorways and/or from under tables, that have a calming influence | |
After seeing a News report video of a painting swinging on a wall in an earthquake, it reminded me of that blue dyed wave in a moving perspex box.
I propose densely insoluble solutions, mathmos-like that could be framed up on a wall. The thin aquarium-like frame could fixed fast to the wall or hung
from swinging wires.
When a quake strikes, the slightly different densities slowly wobble with a surreal calming, mesmerizing action. A magnet and coil in the frame, on movement, electrifies some LEDs which light up the art. Reflective specks, in the transition edges, of the moving solutions, sparkle to give streaks of highlighting.
So when shaken and panic is about to take hold, take a breath and watch the beauty of the insoluble.

Destined to cause orders of magnitude greater casualties,
people who could have run for cover but stood transfixed by
art. |

I like this. I'm not sure I can see anything with my head down
and my hands covering my eyes. But if I peeked out to see if
it was over, it might be something to look at. Maybe. |

Could mount the art on the floor under the sturdy table, just for you [blissmiss]. |

[whatrock] You're right, it might help with [Max's] carbon sequestration, overpopulation and human evolution. |

Any connection with the Philippine hotel losing its swimming pool water? Kind of like Notre Dame but the other way around. |
