various aspects would include budget, expenditure etc. Deciding on types of police cars, equipment etc and also interactive so that can either have automatically respond to incident or can determine how to respond, i.e. send one squad car or swat, a helicopter etc. Configure how police will act i.e shoot
on site or attempt to arrest depending on severity of crime. Can manage speed cameras, burglaries. Different missions and campaigns can be set in different locations so that the rougher the area the greater the challenge. So you may either work in beverly hills to start with and then work your way to downtown manhattan. I think this would be a pretty darn good game if they were to make it. not sure of the interface though - nice 3d but prob. 2d more practical. attention to detail would be nice - i.e. choosing your shield and slogan, type of police building etc.

It would be cool if you could hook them together. One team is playing a gang of street criminals as in GTA: Vice City, the other team is running the police department trying to put them away. |

Nice one, krelnik.
I've been waiting a good 2 player GTA game for a long time... |

Actually, there is a hack to the PC version of GTA to make it multiplayer. Turns out the authors put multiplayer in there to begin with, but took it out at the last minute. Hackers found the disabled code and made it work. |

True, google it. Search for Multiplayer Vice City. They also have Multiplayer for San Andreas. With many mods as well. But id like to see a great PC Game come out simulating the police field from all aspects. I would buy it in a heart beat. |

What with the riots and looting going on in the
UK, I had this idea last night. A quick bun, but,
this idea doesn't explore it enough. The most
interesting part would be simulating the political
motivations/constraints put in place upon a police
force, or the sociological barriers the police
encounter. Balancing justified force with
protecting your officers. Warranting corruption, or
paying higher wages. Having a relationship with
the media, and the pros and pitfalls that entails. |

Building type, badge colour, all that stuff is
immaterial. I'd repost, but I suppose it's not an
entirely different idea? |
