since i gather that the next (g3) generation of mobile phones will incorporate gps location info, i propose that the phones could easily inform their users of the whereabouts of the nearest phone box

       If it can tell where you are then perhaps it can send text updates to all your friends and save you from having to announce it to the world everytime you use the phone on the bus.

       GPS on a phone. That actually is a good idea but not for the reason you mentioned. Who needs those expensive systems in the cars. Just put them on the phone.
