Wanted to resurrect my idea for a website where you could register your name and find out about your namesakes. Imaging the joy of finding people called "Otis Lift" or "Penny Whistle".

[jtg] is that the same thing ? I'd like to find a Bill Poster too.

Googlism is not the same thing. I was thinking more of a registry than an index. Providing the capability to produce composites and statistics. E.g. 33% of Otis Lifts registered are not actually lifts. Interestingly Googlism didnt provide much joy. No Penny Whistle or Otis Lift. Please unmark for deletion.

According to your idea, you could only find out about people called 'blammo' - or have I misunderstood?
wagster, Oct 05 2004

Nope. I am just as interested in Otis.

There is a site in the UK that allows you to search for people with the same name as you. Rather annoyingly they have got their grammar wrong and it's called Your Not Me.

       Grrr.

Isn't this what Vanity Googling is for?

I thought that the "Your Not Me" error was deliberate, an intentional echo of the common internet phrase "your all gay." Perhaps I am too optimistic.

Saw this one again, for a second I thought it was something about Japanese rice wine.
