hyperlink OCR reader mobile phone app

There are alot of QR code readers apps out there... why not a QR code reader that could also recongise a standard hyperlink text as well?

This would allow for accessing any hyperlink that is printed as a standard font.

       In theory the Google 'Goggles' app should do this. However, I did a quick test with random things around my house with URLs printed on them and it didn't work as well as expected. The 'Goggles' app would be distracted with the other printed information (e.g. address, phone number) and wouldn't go directly to the URL without a bit of coaxing.

       I note on the google goggles wiki "For example, taking a picture of a famous landmark would search for information about it, or taking a picture of a product's barcode.."   

       Doesn't that mean that, for example, the grand canyon can be replaced with a barcode, so saving the federal government the cost of actually keeping open the real grand canyon?
