You can't remove your toilet seat?
Worldgineer, Feb 02 2004

of course i can remove it. but it's time consuming and to thoroughly clean it is a nasty job by hand. i suggested an easily removable seat so it can be soaked in a laundry tub.

Seems to me to be more trouble than it's worth. I find the toilet seat easier to clean than the toilet.
Worldgineer, Feb 02 2004

+ The seat itself its easy enough to clean while attached, but that space on the main part of the toilet between the hinges would be easier to clean if the seat could be easily removed.

What the *heck* are you doing to your toilet seat that you need to take it off to clean it?!
DrCurry, Feb 02 2004

to me it's a lot more trouble to clean the base of the toilet thoroughly with the current screw and wing nut design than it would be to have a clip-in expansion type design. cost may be a little more or possibly less. i have in the past had to replace those screws and wing nuts but i'd rather replace them with a clip in expansion type of attachment.i bet a lot of other women out there would like it.

There really should be an easy way to get these things on and off in a hurry.

Baked. I used to have a toilet seat which would lift off when in the raised position.

"You need to clean the toilet" works for me.
thumbwax, Feb 04 2004

reach down underneath the toilet and you'll find a bolt. Unscrew this bolt and the seat comes free.

If you really can't be arsed to clean it in situ, then put the whole thing in the dishwasher.

WARNING : Please don't clean your cutlery at the same time.

NOTE TO HAZEL : Nope, i've never done this. This anno is consumer advise for [autochamp] who feels the need for such a service.
