ready to eat your yummy egg plus little soldiers? you just pinch the sides of the hard hat together which operates a cutting slicer inside and as you remove, it takes the top of your breakfast egg.

inspired by “diapers for men” – don’t ask!

Stainless Steel Egg Topper http://www.niftykit.../339522/page/100452
Not as cute conceptually as your device, po, but like the good Doctor points out, technically soft-boiled. [jurist, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 17 2004]

Stainless Steel Egg Cosies http://www.goantiqu...gg,37c653e92db.html
Now just put it all together as a kit. [jurist, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 17 2004]

I am sure that Blue Peter did this once. You can certainly buy egg cosies to keep them warm. And you can buy gizmos to take the tops off eggs.

I spent ages looking for hats and tops - silly moi, cosies - how english. no this is a manly hard hat for manly egg eaters (and soldier dippers!)

I could see a big market for these, if you modeled them after American Football helmets and aquired the rights to use the logos of various NFL teams. Mmm-mmm! Team spirit never tasted so good!

A "double" egg cup inverted over the egg until you're ready to eat it works pretty well as a "hard hat", too. But you do get points for the visual puns.

       pun?

I thought about this idea some time back, but then realized it was all a big yolk.

Puns, yes. First, for the little yellow protective construction-worker "hard-hats";Second, for the tacit pun of other uses one might use an egg-topper for regarding the author of "Diapers for Men".

What about a shell suit as well?

So you put these things on once the eggs are cooked? I can't say I've ever experienced damage to my boiled eggs in the moments between serving and eating.
