hangman plasters

I don't like to wear those icky plasters any longer than I need to and therefore need a plaster that will monitor the bleeding so that the plaster can be removed safely once the bleeding has stopped. wounds heal better in the air anyway.

hangman plasters will have a pattern of capillaries that the blood can seep into and be observed from the outside. as you bleed, the bloody fluid will firstly fill the outline of the gallows and then proceed to fill out the delineations of a head, trunk, upper arms, leg and finally feet. you will need to have cut yourself pretty badly for the pattern ever to complete a picture of the traditional hangman

choose your colour, red blood or blue or whatever

You probably wouldn't like these [po]. [theleopard, Sep 07 2007]

how does it indicate that the plaster is no longer needed? i can see how it would let you know a new one was required...
k_sra, Sep 06 2007

I suppose when the lines stop being marked. we're talking just a few minutes here, I imagine.
po, Sep 06 2007

I'm giving you a bun and even using proper capitalization, only on the condition that you make me a set of plasters with mystery pictures. I definitely will need at least one fish and one croissant in the set. +
k_sra, Sep 06 2007

Oh -- "bandages." I get it now. I'll add that to my bank of British-isms.

My first image was a stronger form of plaster for ceilings, for those prone to suicide, so that traditional crumbly plaster wouldn't give way under the weight of the body.

A bun, however, for your idea, which I like better. Even sans capitalization.

I love it - especially the potential for children in the playground to compare wounds with one another, and the folklore that might develop about how if you actually got the full hangman, you'd already be dead. Kids would love it, and occasionally boast about how their Dad nearly had a full hangman after trying to put up some shelves one bank-holiday weekend.

The picture of a hanged man on something that is supposed to save you conjured up entirely the wrong image..."You have now bled to death"
DrCurry, Sep 06 2007

hmmm, if the color changed in response to blood type it may give the hospital staff a heads up when you get brought in after fainting at the sight of your green O negative blood.

Bun for the idea, bun for [tom]'s anno. Buns all round. The milky buns are on me!
theleopard, Sep 07 2007

       <note to self> [theleopard] has milky buns.</nts>
k_sra, Sep 07 2007

This is cute, but the best thing for a cut is called New Skin. [see link] (not as much fun as hangman)
xandram, Sep 07 2007

[k_sra], stop ogling my milky buns.
theleopard, Sep 07 2007

<tries to look away, but can't> they're just so milky!</ttlabc>
k_sra, Sep 07 2007

If the bleeding hasn't stopped after ten minutes the wound would not seem to be responsive to a plaster, so why not just remove it after that time and either escalate the treatment or be happy with your now dried-up open air wound?
loonquawl, Sep 07 2007

       good question.
po, Sep 09 2007

       me too. example IT?
po, Sep 09 2007

       //Even sans capitalization//

It's not her fault. No-one's told her that those two keys either side of the keyboard with little housey type shapes on aren't the 'home' keys. [+] by the way.
jtp, Sep 09 2007

excuse me? jtp. have you ever considered that I like the way I write without capitals as a choice?

perhaps there is a physical reason like I'm using my other hand to untwist my knickers...
po, Sep 09 2007

       Sorry, [po].

       *ashamed, yet strangely aroused*
jtp, Sep 09 2007

I tend to have that effect on people.
po, Sep 09 2007

U are very strage... and no email addy to beat you up privately...
po, Sep 09 2007

       Addy added.

       Apologies for my strageness.
jtp, Sep 09 2007

       You used the home key!
jtp, Sep 09 2007

       oops
po, Sep 09 2007

Shhh. Say nothing. Hopefully, no-one will notice.
jtp, Sep 10 2007

[jtp], I've always thought you were a bit stragey. In a good way of course.
theleopard, Sep 10 2007

i tried [xandram's] newskin bandages this weekend for a concert i was playing. my fingertips get very tired of the guitar strings. it did add a level of numbness to the tips and shows no signs of coming off under the stress. so, good for blisters, too. fascinating stuff.

       [jtp], i didn't even have strage fight! : )
k_sra, Sep 10 2007

that's coc you are a stra.
po, Sep 10 2007

(did [po] just call me a stra coc?)
k_sra, Sep 10 2007

       (Yes, yes she did...)

       (I'm frightened.)
theleopard, Sep 10 2007

This would be cool with bandaids, too.
nomocrow, Sep 11 2007

pssst, [nomobird], a plaster *is* a bandaid... (unless you were joking and then forget i said anything.)
k_sra, Sep 12 2007

Treon likes the way that he writes, too, sans standard sentence structure and comprehension rules much to the chagrin of a few, yet somehow po's disdain for the home key has always been cute. I suppose both add some pleasant randomness to the site personality.
RayfordSteele, Sep 12 2007

well, there you go, [tc] cheers!
