For someone like my close family who is taking blood thinners due to a heart attack and keeps on bleeding heavily from the nose every time he picks it by mistake. This is the third time he made it to the hospital.

While wearing them, they look nice (or funny, if they are a toy) but remind him instantly of the doctor's instructions. When he takes them off (and forgets them on purpose) his fingers have become nice and soft, and no need for artificial fingernails until the next time he should be taking his pills.

       You can get nail hardening stuff, so the opposite can't be too difficult. Now that I think about it, I had a bottle of shampoo a while back that seemed to soften my nails (hair & nails being of similar composition).

       Right, but if you soften the nails that would make them prone to tearing... which leads to in-grown nails. I'm not sure this is the best solution to nose picking.
