I think it would be hella cool to have an old-skool type ringer in a cell phone. You know, the kind where a striker arm hits a bell! It would be really easy to do actually... Those vibrating things are just tiny motors with an unbalanced fly wheel ... How hard would it be to make it hit a bell?
Or,
go retro with the latest in technological advances by using a piezoelectric "muscle" to actuate the striker.
Probably not a marketable trait for a cell phone, but hella cool anyway.

You can get the sound as a ringtone. Sounds pretty realistic, too. |
