christmas trees sliced into four parts vertically.

each chopped down tree will decorate four homes at yuletide. they will cost less, save space, require a fourth of the amount of decorations, cut down by a fourth on the amount of dropped needles, more easily carried over the shoulder without losing any of the length. “Hi Ho, Hi Ho! its off to work we go!” – oops sorry, where was I?

these sliced trees will fit really neatly into a corner of the room and are less likely to be tipped over by the cat or a drunken Santa.

       Very good idea!   

       If a drunk santa does not knock the tree down, a few hyperactive kids trying to climb the christmas tree will. A good tree tends to waste a great deal of space unless you put it in the middle of the room.   

       Even the use of an electric bush trimmer to cut away 70% of the tree or so will make it much easier to position it in the room without using excess space. Most times the gifts end up under one side or one corner of the tree.

       Those of us with odd-shaped houses could possibly benefit from a 3/4 tree to fit a convex corner!

       Last Christmas, we attended a party where the Christmas tree had been sawn off about two thirds up to fit the room - it looked like it was growing through the ceiling. (No idea at all why they didn't saw off the *bottom* third. Perhaps they sold the top to someone else.)   

       Our own tree this year has a pronounced curve to the trunk - wouldn't work too well for splitting in four.

       I think that the tree would tend dry out faster since a lot of it would be missing. And while it drys out it would dry out on the cut side faster than the branch side resulting in a bent tree.   

       Maybe if the tree had a special corner stand that kept if from bending?   

       Anyway.. Cool idea.

       Thought I'd voted [+] on this last year. I hadn't. Now I have. Forgot to suggest it to the Mrs. today when she bought the widest, bushiest tree in the shop. For the next month I'll be sharing the living room with a presence larger than me, and I don't like it. Something a quarter of the size would have sufficed.
