"They Live" Prank
Makeup visible only through special infrared glasses makes people look like aliens. | |
First I have to say pranks are obnoxious and I hate anybody
who thinks otherwise.
That being said, here's a prank. You have a bunch of actors
walking about a public place that have creepy alien face
makeup on that's only visible when viewed with special
infrared glasses.
Then an
accomplice
standing on a street corner hands the special
glasses to passerbys. They've got a big sign saying "The
Aliens Are
Among Us!" When the occasional person decides to take a
pair, film their reaction when they see that 1 in about every
10 people in the crowd are "aliens".
Put it on line, get 100 million views and make about twenty
bucks in royalties. Then go get a life and stop being such a
jerk.
The basic idea.

//glasses that utilize science// |

Any ideas which science? The only thing I can think of that would work would be some sort of polarising makeup and corresponding glasses. When viewed normally, it would be a neutral skin tone. With the glasses, some regions would appear brighter than others. |

Yes. See Tat's link that he's going to put up in a few minutes. |
|
|
Rather than glasses, you could also hand out UV flashlights. |

Naah. Most major Northern Hemisphere cities, about 1 in 7. Southern Hemisphere, about 1 in 5, except Canberra, Auckland and Wellington, which are now over 85% off-planet permanent residents. |
|
|
And then there's Swindon, which doesn't support carbon-based life in any meaningful sense, but is staffed entirely by androids that failed the QA test for Westworld. |
|
|
Yes, some additional info on the mechanism would be helpful. Sunscreen shows up well in UV filter but I don't know if it's possible to do this using just a lens. |
|
|
IR I'm quite sure can't be done with science glasses that one would hand out on street corners. FLIR cameras are a thing that people buy and use to view IR, not just film it. |
|
|
It could be done and I think most people would watch the
video. As far as pranks go, this
one is pretty harmless I guess. I think if somebody were to
get really freaked out you'd just tell them how it was done
and that they don't need to worry about alien invasions,
just
about being gullible. |
|
|
Hmm. You get about $2,000 for every million views on
Youtube. So if you get a hundred million views, not
impossible, you'd get 1/5th of a million bucks. Not a bad
payday for just being obnoxious. |
|
|
If that's your game, just do what the YT prankers do, fake it. Nobody cares what is real any more. |
|
|
Particularly voters in the U.S., seemingly ... |

Not as funny as "Spider Dog", though. |
