Tired of packing? Only want one pair of pants? You need zip-off pants!

Ok, I know there are already pants where you can zip-off the bottoms to make shorts. Why not have zip-off pants that go from long, flared bellbottoms to bathing suit bottoms?

Zip. Zip. Off go the first 6 inches, and you have clamdiggers.

Zip. Zip. Now you have capris.

Zip. Zip. Long shorts!

Zip. Zip. Short exercise shorts!

Zip. Zip. Bathing suit bottoms!

Additionally, the pants could have vertical zippers that go from toe to crotch. These could be zipped in such a way as to create skirts at every level. And walah! We've got at least 9 completely different bottoms!

The different 'levels' of cloth could have different colors, patterns, textures, etc. for a customized look.

Somehow this reminds of the old craze for ripped-off jeans, which could (and did) make that same transformation. Only without the reversibility, of course.

Wouldn't all those zips get a little uncomfortable?

Hey, you forgot a thong with only a vertical zipper in the back, and zipping the pants together in a different order to make, for example, bellbottom shorts.

velcro-together little squares for patchwork pants.

Unsuitable, so to speak, for air travel.

You can get plastic zippers, or use Velcro.

       //toe to crotch// So they're socks too?

Faintly, in the night, from deep in the forest, came the distant howl of a camper getting his pubic hair stuck in a zipper.

Just how far down does your pubic hair extend?!

You really don't want to know *that* badly, now do you?

It should also include a series of interchangeable and stackable waistbands to achieve varying amounts of rise.

Baked, except for the swimsuit part.

I like the velcro patch pants idea. Its the ultimate in personalisable clothing. Also you can rip the pants off in Bucks Fizz style.

Problem - the vertical zipper keeps the horizontal levels from detaching.

Solution - 6 seperate vertical zippers.

I think it's just impractical enough to work.

       to much zipping for me...

Sounds like an awsome idea but i had "Zip Off Shorts" And I Lost A Part Of Them, It Had To Be A Huge Waste Of My Money, So If You COuld Think of SOme Other Way to Turn Them Into A Diffrent Style Then I Would Consider It.

Can you also zip levels off the top so you can go from "Gran pa" to "Normal" to "hiphugger" to "rapstar"

Ooo! Even one more level on top with straps, so you can go to "farmer"
