1. Start with a fictitious country which Ill call North
Trashministan that has nothing but rolling sand-dunes for
a thousand miles where not even a camel goes. I.e. 120
degrees and no water table: your basic moonscape.
2. Rent said worthless sand dune from local overlord for
actual money
and employ lots of otherwise underemployed
dune dwellers livable wages to contract to accept and
import the worlds garbage.
3. you need trash barges: lots and lots of them. Think
drone solar powered Panamax clipper ships made from
recycled bottles that run on wind and autopilot. Almost no
crew. Zero fuel and as slow as it needs to be to deliver
trash on schedule.
Seems like there could be a business model there...I
wonder whats the going rate of garbage/ton.

Problem I see is transport costs. I've imported products I've
designed from overseas and shipping ain't cheap. |
|
|
Bun for the name "Trashministan" though. |
|
|
yeah...thats the issue exactly. A lot of transport
cost is fuel (Those freighters burn massive fuel) +
crew. Said trash ships would not have fuel cost
(solar and wind). The trade off is speed
reduction...sailing vessels would take a long
voyage... but then again, who cares about how
fast you ship garbage? It doesnt expire. |

|
They can burn garbage for fuel... |

This technology doesn't exist. |

Ok, well maybe smaller clipper-ships more
frequent service. There may be some upper limit
on sail area...solar motors work ok too...again it
could
be super slow. |

F*K me that website is annoying. |

I gave up on finding useful information, but if it's the one I
saw reported elsewhere, it wasn't very efficient. Too much
drag. |
