This residential snow maker will cover your lawn or snow with a layer of pastel crystals. Each unit of the portable, small-scale system is composed of a pump, a small blower with nozzles, water hose, a power cord and biodegradable, non-staining color. A single unit can be operated hand-held or mounted on the ground, or several units can be affixed to the sprinkler heads of a permanent watering system.

If you’ve been dreaming of a red Christmas, a blue snowman or flakes in another of 12 possible tints, a half hour with the snow painter will make your dream come true.

Tartan snow. How about it, Jinbish?
egbert, Nov 12 2002

Hell, any kind of snow would be greatly appreciated down here. The weather is already getting to hot for comfort.

I have to admit that the idea of bright blue snow is pretty weird but it'd certainly be interesting!

Sounds horrific, Farmer. Admittedly, having a different colour of snow on your garden might be fun, just on an individual basis, but the cumulative effect on the senses of having every garden in the street painted in a different colour of snow doesn't bear thinking about.<shudder>

       And don't forget the roofs.
