When I put my corny dog in the microwave, I forgot to open the wrapper. I was waiting for it to finish cooking when it started to hiss; the hiss then graduated to whistling. I was thinking that we could modify this property to let you know when it was done. If we designed the bags so that they would
do this deliberately and much louder, it would be useful.
After this is done, we could teach them to play a harmonica. Hmmm.....
And now.... a food joke.
Two muffins were in an oven. One leans toward the other and says "wow, it's really getting hot in here!"
The other muffin responds by yelling "AHHHH! A talking muffin!"
For those (strange alien beings) that don't know what a corn dog is.

Carl Fletcher, 90, Inventor of the Corn Dog, Dies
http://katet.typepa...earching_for_e.html (1/3rd of the page down.) "Are you familiar with Carl Fletcher?" I ask, looking them in the eye. Their corn dog is ready, but I hold it behind the counter, just out of reach. People, I've found, will endure just about any amount of harassment when their food is dangled just out of reach." You know, the ding on the microwave lets you know when it's done. |
|
|
It would all depend on the expiration date, though. |

different microwaves = different cooking times, my dear yabba dabba friend. |

What was I thinking? Did the other muffin realize it was also a talking muffin, my dear desert friend? |

//What the hell is a corn dog// What nasty little planet did you post this anno from? |

[DF] This is sort of how I tell if Veat is done. Veat (a meat-like vegetable product) comes in a sealed plastic bag. I throw it into the microwave and when I hear a "Boom!" (which you can hear throught the house) I know it's ready. Usually it's just the bag that bursts, but I have been unlucky once or twice and found veat all over the microwave. Whistling would perhaps be more safe. + |

Corn dogs are hot gogs on a stick wrapped in a cornbread-like substance. Very tasty. |

//What nasty little planet did you post this anno from?// A: The anno came from a planet called Earth. Now, I know perfectly well what area of earth That idea came from. Considering the recent (2 or 3 years) of escapades of the government of That area of earth I wish That area of the earth were on another planet. |

Australian translation of 'Corn Dog' - seems to approximate to a 'Dagwood Dog' or a 'Pluto Pup', but these terms may be regional. |

The item seems to also have some resemblance to a battered sav or a fried banana, but has a stick inserted (presumably deep fried along with the item, but perhaps inserted after cooking). |

Is the 'meal' shown in the [link] why some USAians are so big? |
|
|
I'm pretty sure when the stick is present, it isn't immersed in the oil. |

I am leaning towards bunning this, but what would be the mechanism to achieve the required effect at the right time? Presumably the wrapper will open once the pressure reaches a certain point - and then the escaping air will make some sort of noise... Given a limited amount of gas in the packaging it might be difficult to prolong and increase the volume of the sound. It also may not follow that reaching a certain pressure in the package will equal 'cooked food' (given that different microwaves will reach the required temperature at different rates)... |

[kb] How do you know what planet [Zanzi]'s on, with it's odd canines? |

[+] I love corn dogs...although I think it would be easier to genetically engineer the corn dogs to climb out of the microwave, smother themselves in ketchup and mustard, and drag a plate with them over to the couch...too much? I think not. And it would be nice to have them scream in pain when you bite into them. |
