I recently found a need for a new piece of luggage, and decided I
wanted it to be the size for carrying onto an airplane. Almost all such
luggage has wheels, which is nice. However, In getting to the airport
I plan to use my bicycle, which poses a problem for carrying the
luggage --backpack
straps don't seem to exist on such luggage. And
when I went to a sporting-goods store, they had lots of backpacks, but
none had wheels for smooth terrain.
Time to post an Idea to the HalfBakery! (Done!)

Nice Googling. Why didn't any store associates I asked
about them, know about them? NOT WKTE, therefore! |
Or maybe the store associates didn't mention that they
exist because they don't carry them and are hoping that
you'll give up and just buy what they have. |
I new they existed, but I don't know if I am wide enough to
count. |

Toyed with the idea of bamboo sections with Castors* that'd snap together to take all the weight of the backpack. |
// NOT WKTE, therefore!// You're right. And, now that I think of it, wouldn't it be cool if someone made backpacks with some kind of zip fastener? |
A zip fastener? - yes, if only some could invent the zip
fastener... |
Presumably someone french ... |

Possibly use multiple Toblerone bars, but the teeth are set a bit wide these days. |

If you are burly enough to bike to the airport with a suitcase-weight backpack, then who needs the wheels? Just tote it around as a backpack. |

Maybe [Vernon] is actually a Tyrannosaurus Rex ... big muscly legs, tiny feeble arms ? |
That would neatly account for many, many things that are currently obscure ... |
